Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson was injured in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to Washington. He was hit under the chin with a shot early in the third period and left holding his neck. Sanderson finished with 15:55 of ice time and had one block in the contest. Ottawa didn't have any immediate updates on his status after the game. At least the 20-year-old will be getting some nice recovery time, as Ottawa's Friday's match against Detroit was postponed due to bad weather conditions and the team will be off until Dec. 27. Sanderson had a good start to the season and was among the top scoring rookies, but he has been slumping throughout December with only one point collected in 11 outings. He's on 12 points through 33 games for the whole year. Ottawa also lost forwards Tyler Motte and Rourke Chartier to upper-body injuries Thursday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
