Jake Lamb Starting Rehab Assignment At Triple-A
3 years agoChicago White Sox infielder/outfielder Jake Lamb (quadriceps) has been sent out on a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. Lamb has been out for nearly three weeks with a strained right quad, but he could return to the White Sox within the next week, barring any setbacks. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger just hasn't seen enough playing time with the first-place Pale Hose this year, and he's hitting just .224/.333/.424 with five home runs and 10 RBI in his 85 at-bats. At best, Lamb is a platoon player in the corner infield/outfield against right-handed pitchers, but there's too much good talent ahead of him in Chicago. He's strictly a depth piece in AL-only leagues when he's healthy.
