Jake Burger Targeting Aug. 8 Return
Jake Burger (quadriceps) is targeting an Aug. 8 return from the 10-day injured list, according to Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News. Burger has already missed two weeks after going on the IL on July 13 with a strained left quadriceps. When healthy, the 29-year-old has batted a subpar .228/.259/.401 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI, and a career-worst 2.8% walk rate over 286 plate appearances in his first season with the Rangers. The club has used an array of players at first base in Burger's absence. Rowdy Tellez, Josh Smith, Ezequiel Duran, and Justin Foscue have each started at the position in the past week.
