Jake Bauers Activated And Starting Sunday
1 year agoThe New York Yankees activated outfielders Jake Bauers (shoulder) and Greg Allen (hip) from the 10-day injured list on Sunday and optioned infielder/outfielder Franchy Cordero to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. Bauers is immediately back in the team's starting lineup on Sunday to face right-hander Jordan Lyles and the Kansas City Royals. He's playing right field and batting leadoff. The 27-year-old went 7-for-9 with two home runs and two doubles during three minor-league rehab games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and Sunday will be his first big-league game since going on the injured list on July 6 with a left rotator-cuff inflammation. The left-handed hitter should see time against right-handers, at least until Aaron Judge (toe) returns from his injury.
