Jaden Hill Showcasing Elite Strikeout Potential In Relief Role
6 months agoColorado Rockies pitching prospect Jaden Hill shifted to a relief role earlier this spring and has begun to showcase elite strikeout potential. Through 17 ⅔ innings with Double-A, Hill has tallied 27 punchouts and has only allowed seven free passes. He holds a 4.58 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. Hill started the season off posting a 3.00 ERA with 13 punchouts and four saves across his first nine innings of the season. However, in his most recent six ⅔ innings, the right-hander has begun to struggle with a 5.40 ERA. Last summer, as a starter in High-A, the LSU product posted a hefty 9.48 ERA and 1.81 WHIP, which resulted in him taking on a relief role. Hill could develop into the closer of the future with his high strikeout output in Colorado and is worth following in dynasty leagues if he is moved up to Triple-A later this summer.
