Jacob deGrom Being Re-Evaluated Tuesday
2 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (wrist) is being re-evaluated on Tuesday. He said that his wrist soreness popped up early in his start on Monday against the Kansas City Royals and wasn't much, but it became more sore as the outing wore on and he didn't want to change his mechanics and create a bigger issue. The 34-year-old right-hander was removed as a precaution given his lengthy injury history, and he's hoping he can still make his next start this weekend against the lowly Oakland Athletics. The good news is that this isn't related to deGrom's arm at all, but we'll pass along updates as soon as they become available. Before leaving on Monday, deGrom had tossed four hitless innings with one walk and five strikeouts, and he has a 3.48 ERA with three walks and 32 strikeouts through his first four starts for Texas in 2023.
