Jackie Bradley Jr. Strives For Relevancy
7 years agoJackie Bradley Jr. is a defensive specialist. He has not demonstrated consistent offensive capability to be relevant in fantasy. His slash line since he has been in the big leagues is .239/.318/.407; all of these stats are below league averages in 2017. Bradley’s performance in 2016 gave us hope that he could provide at least some categorical support, however, his 2017 wiped out any thoughts of that. He had an average of .245 and an on-base plus slugging percentage of a .726. He had a 22.9 strikeout percentage and an average base on balls percentage of 8.9. His average away from Fenway Park was .219, while it was .271 at home. Another disparity is splits between first half and second half, batting .280 in the former and .204 in the latter. Bradley can be drafted in the last round, but it is not advisable. Leave him on the waiver wire and use your last couple of draft picks on players with upside. In American League only leagues, Bradley might be worth taking a risk.
