Jack Perkins Named Sunday's Starter
Jack Perkins will shift into the starting rotation and take the mound against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. This news comes a few days after Perkins recorded a two-inning save in the absence of Mason Miller. The assumption was that Perkins would get a chance at the closer role. Now, it seems like Perkins could help fill out the starting rotation. Perkins pitched well as a starter during his time in the minor leagues. He holds a 2.75 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 19/7 K/BB ratio across eight appearances this season. There is some deep league value here, but it's unclear how deep Perkins is going to pitch in Sunday's game. The right-hander probably isn't stretched out to throw five or six innings, so his ceiling is going to be limited.
