J.P. Crawford Out With Knee Injury
2 years agoSeattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford (knee) is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the division-rival Texas Rangers. Crawford will take a day to rest after injuring his knee late in the loss to the Rangers on Saturday night, but the team doesn't think it's a very serious injury. And with an off day coming on Monday, there's a good chance that the 28-year-old will be able to return to action on Tuesday to face the San Diego Padres on the road. Crawford has gone hitless in his last two games and has gone 8-for-34 (.235) in his last eight games with a double, home run and two RBI in 36 plate appearances. On Sunday for the M's, Jose Caballero will handle shortstop duties and hit in the eight-hole for Seattle against Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.
