J.P. Crawford Going For X-Rays On His Foot
2 years agoSeattle Mariners manager Scott Servais said that shortstop J.P. Crawford (foot) will have X-rays on his foot on Saturday. Crawford fouled a ball off his foot in the batting cages on Friday but still took part in a full workout afterward. As a precaution, the team scratched him from the Cactus League lineup. We should know more on whether the 28-year-old will need to begin the season on the injured list by the end of this weekend. In his fourth year with the M's in 2022, Crawford slashed .243/.339/.336 with a .675 OPS, six home runs, 42 RBI and 57 runs scored in 145 games played. He's more of a defense-first player, but Crawford can provide a decent average and on-base numbers as a middle infielder in deeper leagues. But his lack of power and speed at a premium position doesn't make him all that attractive in mixed leagues.
