Indians Send The Struggling Sam Hentges Down
3 years agoThe Cleveland Indians optioned left-handed rookie Sam Hentges to Triple-A Columbus on Friday to make room for Triston McKenzie, who will start on Friday against the Kansas City Royals. Hentges just hasn't been good in his first stint in the major leagues, going 1-4 with a rough 8.23 ERA, 2.03 WHIP, 44 strikeouts and 25 walks in 15 appearances (eight starts) spanning 42 2/3 innings. The 24-year-old southpaw has the ability to miss bats, but he'll need to be a lot better with his control and command in the second half if he's to even be considered as a sleeper streaming option in DFS and deeper leagues. With all the injuries to Cleveland's rotation, there's a good chance that Hentges will get some more starts in the second half.
