Indians Expected To Hold Onto Francisco Lindor
5 years agoCleveland Indians president Chris Antonetti said on Wednesday that he's more confident that All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor will be with the team to start the season after the Tribe didn't receive a trade proposal to their liking in the last few weeks. The four-time All-Star is under contract through the 2021 season, but the Indians have yet to sign him to a long-term contract, and there's little chance that he will re-sign. Lindor rumors have been connected to the Dodgers, Reds and Padres this winter, among other teams. The 26-year-old is both excellent on defense and offense, so he'll remain a high-end fantasy commodity no matter where he's playing. He hit .284 with 32 home runs, 74 RBI and 22 stolen bases while batting leadoff in 2019.
