Hunter Dozier Left Off All-Star Roster
5 years agoIn a cruel twist, Kansas City Royals corner infielder Hunter Dozier not only finished second in the voting to be the starter at third base in the All-Star game, but was thus left off the roster entirely. Dozier has had a breakout season so far, hitting .294 with 13 home runs, 44 RBI, and 30 runs scored even though he missed over three weeks due to a thorax injury. Teammate Whit Merrifield was named as the only KC player to make the squad, and Dozier will now be watching from home. On the day of the announcement, Dozier knocked two more hits, raising his OPS to .945, nearly 30 points higher than any other third baseman in the American League.
