Heston Kjerstad Strikes Out In First Big-League At-Bat
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles first base prospect Heston Kjerstad didn't make his first major-league start in the 4-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday, but he did get his first big-league at-bat as a pinch-hitter and struck out. One of the team's top overall prospects in the system was thrown into the fire in the eighth inning with the team trailing by one run, but he wasn't able to deliver. The 24-year-old has a very intriguing power/speed combination and is hoping to help the Orioles win the American League East division, but it remains to be seen how much he'll actually play, especially now that Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) isn't expected to need a trip to the injured list.
