Henry Cejudo fell short in his bid to recapture his bantamweight championship, dropping a split decision to Aljamain Sterling in the main event of Saturday's UFC 288 event. It was a back-and-forth battle over all five rounds, but Sterling managed to keep his lead in the scoring thanks to solid striking, takedowns and superior grappling at opportune times to secure a victory. In 25 minutes of action, Cejudo landed 99 significant strikes and three takedowns. Following the defeat, Cejudo, a former Olympic champion in wrestling, hinted at a second retirement. The former flyweight and bantamweight champion left the sport three years ago, citing a lack of challenges that had depleted his motivation to keep fighting.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller
