Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alex Edler logged a game-high 29:18 minutes of ice time Saturday night as the Canucks beat the Sharks 5-2. Edler has seen more than 29 minutes of ice time in each of the last two games, which are the only games this season his usage has been so high. It is no coincidence that teammate Quinn Hughes has been injured over that same time. Already known for his proficiency in periphery stats, Edler has 18 penalty minutes, 21 hits, and 39 blocks to go with his 10 points in 14 games. Edler has plenty of value for non-point categories, but as long as Hughes remains sidelined, he becomes a must-start due to his heavy usage and opportunity on Vancouver's top power-play unit.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBallerRead More News
