Ha-Seong Kim Not Playing Friday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Ha-Seong Kim (knee) is not in the team's starting lineup on Friday as they begin a three-game series in the Bronx against the New York Yankees. Kim was helped off the field by two trainers on Thursday against the Washington Nationals after he fouled a ball off his left knee. However, X-rays came back negative, and the Padres are hoping the 27-year-old can avoid a trip to the injured list. Even if Kim doesn't go on the IL, he could end up missing the entire weekend series against New York. Rougned Odor is starting at third base and hitting fifth, Jake Cronenworth is at the keystone and batting second and Brandon Dixon is starting at first and hitting seventh against Yankees rookie right-hander Randy Vasquez on Friday.
