Greg Holland Earns First Save After Rocky Ninth Inning

It wasn't pretty, but Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Greg Holland converted his first save of the year on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Angels. Holland entered the game in the eighth inning to relieve a struggling Wade Davis, then went on to have his own struggles in the ninth. In total, Holland pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two. The game ended with the bases loaded. Royals manager Mike Matheny has been very fluid with his bullpen management so far this year, but it does appear as if Holland is the top candidate for saves. Holland should be rostered in any league where saves are scarce.
