5/31:Seattle Mariners infielder Gordon Beckham drove in his first run of the season in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Rangers. Beckham was brought up from the minors to provide stability after the news broke that second baseman Robinson Cano would be suspended for 80 games. Beckham, the once prized prospect of the White Sox organization, has bounced around the league the past few seasons, and his 1-for-3 performance on Wednesday brought his average up to .206 through 34 at-bats. As of now, the Mariners have little choice but to continue to keep Beckham in the mix until outfielder/infielder Dee Gordon can be activated from the disabled list. Beckham has a prime chance to earn more playing time, but his career slash line of .239/.303/.367 does not help his case as someone who can help a fantasy team at any point.--Joey C - RotoBaller
