Gleyber Torres Scratched On Monday
2 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres (illness) was scratched from the starting lineup on Monday against the Texas Rangers because he's "under the weather," according to skipper Aaron Boone. Torres should be considered day-to-day for the final regular season series of 2022, but hopefully he'll be able to play either Tuesday or Wednesday before the team kicks off the American League Division Series next week. With the 25-year-old sitting out, Isiah Kiner-Falefa will start at shortstop and bat seventh against Rangers left-hander Martin Perez on Monday. IKF finished off the month of September hitting .273 (21-for-77) with three home runs, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored in 21 games played.
