Giants Plan To Make Short-Term Offer To Bryce Harper
6 years agoThe San Francisco Giants plan to offer free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper a lucrative short-term deal but have no desire to give him a long-term contract approaching the 10-year, $300 million contract that the superstar rejected from the Nationals last year. One high-ranking rival executive predicts that the Giants will ultimately sign Harper. The Giants hadn't engaged Harper at all in the offseason until last week when they traveled to Las Vegas to meet with him in person. The pitcher-friendly park in San Fran wouldn't be ideal for Harper, but despite a down season in 2018 he's still a top-20 overall fantasy player and is still in the prime of his career.
