Giants Have Talked With Carlos Correa
2 years agoThe San Francisco Giants have spoken with free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa's representatives at the Winter Meetings in San Diego this week, according to a source. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Twins have also been linked to Correa this offseason. The 28-year-old declined his $35.1 million option for the 2023 season, but the Twins are all in on trying to bring him back on a multi-year deal. The shortstop market has skyrocketed after Trea Turner landed an 11-year, $300 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. Correa, along with Xander Bogaerts and Dansby Swanson, is one of the top shortstops available after hitting .291/.366/.467 with an .834 OPS, 22 home runs, 64 RBI and 70 runs scored in 522 at-bats for the Twins last year.
