The New York Giants claimed wide receiver Dante Pettis off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. Pettis was released by the 49ers after he fumbled a kickoff return in the Week 8 loss to the Seahawks. The former second-round pick turned out to be a bust for San Francisco and struggled to stay motivated. He failed to reel in his only target in five games for the Niners this year, but perhaps a change of scenery to the East coast will help him turn things around. Pettis will be buried on a depth chart that includes receivers Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Golden Tate, rookie Austin Mack and C.J. Board, however. Don't expect him to resurface from a fantasy standpoint anytime soon.--Keith Hernandez
