Giancarlo Stanton Dealing With Ankle Inflammation
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) was sent to the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. It was originally stated that he was dealing with a right calf strain. However, late Wednesday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone clarified that Stanton was instead dealing with ankle inflammation. Boone made it sound as if he isn't too concerned about Stanton's injury and that there's a chance that Stanton is only out for the minimum 10 days. Joey Gallo returned from the COVID-19 injured list on Wednesday and he should see a bump in playing time with Stanton out. Utility man Marwin Gonzalez could also be counted on more than usual over the next 10 days.
