Gerrit Cole Good To Go For Friday
2 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole, who had his last start on Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers cut short because of cramping, is good to go to make his start on Friday against the division-rival Boston Red Sox. The 32-year-old will be making his 14th start of the season after giving up only one run on four hits while striking out five in six innings in a win over the Dodgers last weekend. That outing was a nice bounce-back performance after Cole surrendered 10 earned runs in his previous two starts versus the Orioles and Padres. He's an absolute must-start for the series opener against Boston. Overall, Cole is 7-0 on the season with a 2.82 ERA (3.65 FIP), 1.13 WHIP, 28 walks and 84 strikeouts in 79 2/3 innings over his 13 starts.
