New York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole (elbow) stated on Saturday that he was feeling good the day after his rehab start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, his third rehab start this season, and that he "definitely" will be back "soon." The expectation is that a decision will be made by Sunday if the 2023 AL Cy Young winner will need another rehab start or if he will be added to the Yankees' active roster. Manager Aaron Boone was looking to speak with both Cole and the Yankees' training staff before making a decision. The 33-year-old has been making great progress in his rehab and was dominant on Friday, striking out 10 in just over four innings of work. If Cole is added to the Yankees active roster, they currently do not have a starter named for their Wednesday night game against the Baltimore Orioles, the first possibility for him to return. Should he require another rehab start then the next opening in the Yankees' rotation currently is June 26th against the New York Mets. Fantasy managers should be prepared to have Cole inserted into their lineups in anticipation of him returning this week or next.--Kevin Larson - RotoBaller
