German Marquez Controls Padres
5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez jumped right back on the horse after his rough outing against the Astros earlier in the week. Marquez tossed eight innings of three-run ball against the Padres, earning his 11th win and ending Colorado's five-game losing streak. Marquez gave up a couple runs early on a pair of solo shots, but he then settled down and dominated over the next five innings. Marquez only allowed five hits and two walks while striking out nine. Next up, he'll get to face the Marlins, but it will be at home. Marquez has a terrifying 6.45 ERA at home this season, and he's only posted one quality start there since May. It should be a good chance, but owners need to decide how badly they need that start this late in the year.
