Garrett Hampson Continues To Get Starts
6 years agoColorado Rockies second baseman Garrett Hampson seemed like he might be the odd man out for an unknown reason after first baseman Daniel Murphy went down with his finger injury. Manager Bud Black talked up the idea of getting Mark Reynolds and Pat Valaika starts and noticeably avoided Hampson's name. Fortunately, that's not been the case. Hampson has now started four straight games, and there's no good reason why he shouldn't start over the other two while Murphy is on the injured list. Unfortunately, he has yet to get a hit in any of those games, so he's not exactly winning everyone over. With that said, give him some time, and he should be able to provide some real value if the team doesn't give up on him.
