Gabriel Moreno Nearing Return
Gabriel Moreno (finger) is on the verge of returning from the 60-day injured list. He'll catch back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday during his Triple-A rehab assignment, and if all goes well, the Diamondbacks will activate him. The club has gone without the 25-year-old since June 14 as a result of a hairline fracture in his right index finger. Before suffering the injury, Moreno hit .270/.324/.414 with five homers, 20 RBI, and 29 runs scored in 188 plate appearances. James McCann, who signed with the Diamondbacks after Moreno's injury, and Jose Herrera have been doing most of the catching in Moreno's absence.
