Frederik Andersen To Close Out Season For Maple Leafs
7 years agoMaple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock stated that he wants goalie Frederik Andersen to start two games leading into the postseason. Curtis McElhinney has been confirmed to start in goal for the Leafs Monday, meaning Andersen will start both games remaining in the Leafs' regular season schedule. It’s not all that common to know a goalie’s schedule this far in advance. It will surely be a relief to fantasy owners in their league finals to know that Andersen will at least be a factor down to the wire. The Leafs visit the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, who are looking to etch their names into a wild-card spot. Saturday should be the easier of the two matchups, as the Canadiens visit the Air Canada Centre to round out the team's regular season. Andersen recently tied the Maple Leafs franchise record for wins in a single season with 37. If he can get a win in either remaining start, he’ll enter the ranks of Leafs history.
