Franmil Reyes Outrighted To The Minors
2 years agoThe Chicago Cubs outrighted Franmil Reyes, David Bote, Steven Brault, Narciso Crook, and Anderson Espinoza to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday after they all cleared waivers. Alec Mills and Brad Wieck were also outrighted to Iowa after being activated from the 60-day injured list. Reyes began the 2022 season with the Cleveland Guardians, but he was traded to the Cubs after hitting .213/.254/.350 with nine home runs, 28 RBI, 24 runs scored and a whopping 104 strikeouts in 280 plate appearances over 70 games. In his 48 games with Chicago, he went 41-for-175 (.234) with five round-trippers, 19 RBI, 19 runs scored and 53 strikeouts. It's been a long fall for the 27-year-old, who hit 30 home runs and drove in 85 runs just last year for Cleveland.
