1 year agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday after tossing six scoreless innings against the Astros on Monday. Montas has been great this year, going 5-2 with a 3.35 ERA in eight starts. However, Trevor Cahill (Achilles) is expected to rejoin the rotation soon, and the A's would like Montas to get a start at Triple-A before returning to the team after the All-Star break. Oakland recalled reliever Ryan Dull from Nashville in a corresponding move, but he'll likely work in middle relief. If you were using Montas in a deep mixed or AL-only league, try to hang onto him.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
