Framber Valdez Expected To Start Thursday
Framber Valdez is expected to return to the rotation for the start of the second half and face the Rangers on Thursday. Valdez was hit hard in late June before the Astros sent him down to Triple-A Round Rock for some rest, but he has been solid in good matchups for owners in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. The 25-year-old Dominican left-hander is 3-4 on the year with a 4.57 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 41 strikeouts and 19 walks in 45 1/3 innings over four starts and 14 relief appearances. There's intrigue in him once again in deeper leagues, but the Rangers can put up runs with the best of them.
