Detroit Red Wings winger Filip Zadina has signed a new three-year deal with the team with an average annual value of $1.825 million. The 22-year-old was a restricted free agent after coming off his three-year, entry-level contract. The sixth pick of the 2018 NHL Draft has been one of Detroit's most promising prospects, but he's yet to make a big impact in the league, recording only 25 goals and 61 points in 160 appearances. The new deal shows that the Red Wings still have faith in him and Zadina definitely has the ability to be a productive scorer in the league. However, you can't score if you don't play and Zadina averaged just a little over 14 minutes of ice time during a 24-point campaign in 2021-22. Things could be very different for him in 2022-23 with a new head coach in town in Derek Lalonde.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
