New York Rangers center Filip Chytil (concussion) returned to practice in a non-contact jersey on Thursday. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared since suffering a concussion in a Nov. 2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes and Thursday marked his first practice back with the team. The Czechia native returned to his home country to rest and recover but arrived back in New York on Wednesday. Chytil failed to find the back of the net through his first 10 games this season but did register six assists in 15:56 of average ice time, a career-high. He broke out with 22 goals and 45 points alongside 177 shots on goal across 74 games last season, shattering previous career highs in the process. The Rangers are expected to place center Nick Bonino on waivers Thursday in anticipation of Chytil's return to the lineup, although a timetable has not yet been released.--Brenton Kemp
