2 years agoAfter two years tied up on the sidelines due to visa issues, Mexican featherweight Fernando Padilla finally got to make his promotional debut at UFC Vegas 72 on Saturday and was paired up with Julian Erosa. Padilla looked on point from the opening bell, landing a slick combination that dropped Erosa. Erosa popped back up to his feet and tried to re-engage but was dropped again by the young Mexican, who was making his UFC debut, and the fight was waved off. The stoppage was controversial in the eyes of some, including Erosa, who contested referee Chris Tognoni's decision to step in. In 1:41 of action, Padilla landed 20 significant strikes.
