Ezekiel Elliott Remains Integral To Cowboys Backfield
2 years agoDallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on Monday that running back Ezekiel Elliott (knee) remains integral to the team, even after Tony Pollard ran wild for 131 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries in the Week 8 win over the Chicago Bears with Elliott sidelined. "There's no argument," Jones said. "Zeke's ability to punish, Zeke's ability to deliver, Zeke's ability, what he does for us in pass protection, and, frankly, Zeke's ability to make big plays are there, and we're going to go where Zeke goes. He's that integral to our success." Dallas has a bye in Week 9, and it remains to be seen if Elliott will be healthy enough to play in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers. Pollard has proven to be more efficient and explosive than Elliott again this year, but Zeke will continue to "start" and see plenty of touches when he's healthy.
