Ezekiel Elliott, Aldon Smith Limited Wednesday
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring) and defensive end Aldon Smith (knee) were both limited participants in practice on Wednesday. Elliott should be good for Week 9 against the Steelers, barring any setbacks. Against a stout defense with a different quarterback set to be under center this Sunday, Elliott will face more stacked boxes against Pittsburgh. He's a must-start based on volume alone, but Dallas' offense is unlikely to move the ball consistently and could easily fall behind by multiple scores early. Zeke hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 5, however, and he's become more of a low-end RB1 with a lowered ceiling now that Dak Prescott (ankle) is out for the season. Here's hoping that Andy Dalton (concussion) can make his return after the Week 10 bye. After a hot start Smith has cooled off somewhat, although he did record a sack in the Week 8 loss to the Eagles.
