New York Jets safety Jamal Adams remains unhappy heading into the final season of his rookie deal without a long-term contract, and everything remains on the table. A trade seems unlikely with the draft approaching next week, but it can't be ruled out after the team shopped him at the deadline in 2019. From all indications, general manager Joe Douglas wants to extend Adams, but the GM at no point has given a timetable for an Adams extension, and ESPN New York's Rich Cimini's impression is that the Jets will slow play an Adams extension into 2021 unless Adams accepts a team-friendly deal. That's unlikely, since Adams is likely pushing to be the highest-paid safety given his All-Pro play so far in his career. Because the Jets could theoretically keep Adams through 2022 with a franchise tag, they have no incentive to trade him for anything less than a premium price.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
