Everson Pereira To Make MLB Debut Tuesday
1 year agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that outfield prospect Everson Pereira will make his major-league debut on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals and right-hander Josiah Gray and will be starting in left field. The team's No. 3 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, gets the call to the big leagues after hitting a combined .300 (91-for-303) with 18 home runs, 17 doubles, two triples, 64 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 53 runs scored in 81 games with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 22-year-old can play anywhere in the outfield, but he'll mostly man left field on a regular basis in the Bronx the rest of this year. The 5-foot-11 right-handed hitter is worth a waiver-wire pickup in deep-mixed leagues for his power and speed.
