Erick Fedde Throws From 120 Feet
3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Erick Fedde (oblique) threw for the first time from up to 120 feet on Tuesday. "It went pretty smoothly, so a good start," Fedde said. The right-hander went on the injured list over the weekend with a mild oblique strain. Oblique strains can often be tricky to come back from, especially for pitchers, but the fact that Fedde is already throwing at that distance is a good sign that he may not be out for long. In 11 starts for the Nats in 2021, Fedde is 4-4 with a 3.90 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 50/25 K/BB in 55 1/3 innings pitched. Before allowing five earned runs over four innings in his last start against the Philadelphia Phillies, Fedde had a stretch of three straight scoreless starts with 17 strikeouts and six walks in 19 innings.
