Eloy Jimenez Still Out Tuesday
8 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves. Gavin Sheets is serving as the designated hitter again on Tuesday and is hitting cleanup for the Pale Hose against Braves right-hander Reynaldo Lopez. This is Jimenez's second straight missed game after he suffered a left-adductor injury on Sunday. After an MRI exam on Monday, the 27-year-old is being labeled as day-to-day, so hopefully the oft-injured Jimenez will be able to avoid the injured list and return to the lineup later this week. Sheets went 0-for-2 with a strikeout and hit by pitch on Monday and is still searching for his first hit of the season after five plate appearances. He has never faced Lopez in his career.
