Eloy Jimenez Sitting Against Orioles
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez is not in Thursday's starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles. It appears to just be a regular day of rest for Jimenez with the White Sox recently being eliminated from postseason contention. He's hit well in the final month of the regular season, going 25-for-87 (.287) with seven home runs, 22 RBI and 16 runs scored in 24 games for the Pale Hose. Jimenez has gone hitless in his last seven at-bats over two games, though, with three strikeouts, so the White Sox are giving him a day to rest. With Jimenez out, Jose Abreu is serving as the designated hitter and is batting third, while Andrew Vaughn is at first base and is hitting fifth against Twins right-hander Louie Varland on Thursday.
