Elieser Hernandez Dealing With Biceps Inflammation

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez was forced to leave Saturday's start in the third inning with what originally appeared to be a hand injury. The on-air broadcast team assumed it was a blister issue, since Hernandez has dealt with blister issues in the past. After the game however, the Marlins announced that their starter was in fact dealing with inflammation in his right biceps tendon. That's a much more serious issue than a blister, so Hernandez is expected to miss time, possibly significant time. He'll almost certainly be placed on the injured list on Monday (the Marlins don't play on Sunday) and the team will then need to figure out a starter to take his place. Nick Neidert, Braxton Garrett, and Daniel Castano are all options, but the Marlins could look into signing a veteran to help anchor their staff as well.
