Eduardo Rodriguez Loses Arbitration Case
5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez lost his salary arbitration case and will make $8.3 million in 2020 instead of the $8.975 million that he requested, according to a source. Boston will be relying on Rodriguez even more this season after they traded David Price to the Dodgers. The 26-year-old (27 in April) left-hander was 19-6 with a 3.81 ERA and 1.33 WHIP while striking out 213 and walking a league-high 75 batters in a career-high 34 starts (203 1/3 innings) in 2019. The strikeout numbers are nice, but E-Rod is prone to erratic outings when he can't find the zone. Pitching in the tough American League East makes things more difficult, but he'll be an upside No. 3 fantasy starter.
