10 months agoBoston Red Sox infielder Eduardo Nunez (back) went 2-for-3 with a home run in his third rehab game for Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday as the designated hitter. He's been on the injured list since April 19 with a mid-back strain and was 0-for-8 in his first two games on the farm. Manager Alex Cora estimated that Nunez would need 20 at-bats before being activated, so he could come off the injured list against the Orioles on Monday. Before going down with injury, he was hitting just .159/.178/.182 with five RBI in 17 games. With Michael Chavis hitting well at the keystone, Nunez could return to only a utility role in Boston.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
