3 years agoChicago Bears defensive tackle Eddie Goldman (knee) has been downgraded to out for the Week 1 season opener against the Los Angeles Rams. Goldman suffered a knee injury on Monday and didn't practice all week. With Goldman out, expect rookie Khyiris Tonga to fill in on the interior of Chicago's defensive line this Sunday. Goldman isn't on the IDP radar (just 12.5 sacks in five seasons), but his absence as a run-stuffer could be crucial against the Rams and running backs Darrell Henderson and Sony Michel. Chicago's defense was around middle of the pack in sacks and most other defensive metrics last year and they aren't a recommended starting fantasy unit in Week 1 against a Rams offense that could be even better with quarterback Matthew Stafford.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
