Earl Thomas Expected To Stick Around
7 years agoSeattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider doesn't expect veteran safety Earl Thomas to force his way out of town in the final year of his current contract. “My sense is that he wants to be here,” Schneider said on 710 ESPN Seattle, via Jessamyn McIntyre. “I haven’t got that sense from his agents at all.” However, Thomas hasn't been apart of voluntary team workouts this spring. He's scheduled to make $8.5 million in base salary in 2018. Now that the draft has come and gone and Thomas has yet to be traded, it seems as though it's unlikely he'll be dealt, but 2018 will probably be his final year in Seattle either way. The Seahawks could really use Thomas this year after Richard Sherman left for San Fran. Thomas, when healthy, remains one of the most disruptive safeties in the NFL.
