Eagles To Focus On The Trenches In Round 1
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman likes to build through the trenches in the draft, and ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay is hearing that will be the focus for the Eagles in Round 1 on Thursday night. Philly lost Javon Hargrave on the interior, and both Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham are older players on one-year deals. Iowa's Lukas Van Ness' versatility would fit with the Eagles defensive scheme, and they'd likely also explore Georgia's Nolan Smith, but he's similar to Haasan Reddick off the edge. Defensive line is more likely to be a target than the offensive line, but the Eagles could also go with Northwestern's Peter Skoronski as instant protection for quarterback Jalen Hurts. Philly has done their homework on Texas RB Bijan Robinson, but it would be a surprise if they took him here.
