Eagles, Jordan Mailata Agree To Four-Year Extension
3 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles and left tackle Jordan Mailata signed a four-year, $64 million contract extension on Saturday that could be worth up to $80 million. The deal also includes $40.85 million guaranteed, according to a source. Mailata is now under contract with the team through the 2025 campaign. The 24-year-old seventh-rounder in 2018 outplayed an injured Andre Dillard in the preseason, so not only does he get a rich extension, but he will be the Eagles starting left tackle in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons. His job will be to protect mobile second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts, who can make noise with his arm and his legs, has clear QB1 upside in the season opener against a Falcons defense that racked up only 29 sacks as a team (tied for 23rd in the league) last season.
